Spirit of Sharing

The S.O.S. Soup Kitchen opened its doors at the 1st location of St. John EUCC on June 7, 2012.  It is open every Thursday from 5:30-6 pm drive thru.  We serve on average 232 patrons a week.  Our 2nd location opened its doors at First United Presbyterian Church on January 3, 2017.  It is open every Tuesday  from 5:30-6 pm drive thru.  We serve an average 233 patrons a week.  Our 3rd location opened its doors at First United Methodist Church on January 30, 2018 and retired from the program at the end of 2024.

Twenty local churches and several community organizations came together to form the Soup Kitchen Coalition.  This group rotates weekly to provide volunteers and food to serve dinner.  The food pantry provides some protein, fresh produce, and desserts when available.  

S.O.S. Soup Kitchen is a strictly feeding ministry, open to anyone in need of a warm meal .  There are no qualifying factors or strings attached.  If you or your group is interested in volunteering, contact John Green for Thursdays at 618-344-2526 and Kristine Cleland for Tuesdays at 618-344-2526.  We are also on Facebook at SOS Spirit of Sharing!
